Creating connections,

By aligning with nature, each pearl beautifully connects the sea and the earth, people and people, hearts and hearts, the ordinary and the extraordinary.

Brilliance born from the harmony of sea and land

Orv's Pearl Quality

Orv boasts exquisite pearl quality

Orv's six standards

- Gloss
When you come across a magnificent pearl, the first thing that will catch your eye is the beauty of its luster.
The luster of a pearl is created by combining two types of luster: "surface luster," which shines when light reflects off the smooth surface, and "internal luster," which shines when light penetrates inside the nacre and is reflected by the nacre crystals.
At Orv, we carefully select pearls with an elegant, bright shine and high-quality luster that reveals rich pinkish rainbow colors known as interference colors.

- Luster: "Luminous" refers to the thickness of the nacre. The thicker and more uniform the nacre, the more beautiful and deep the luster will be and the more durable it will be, so it is a very important factor.
The luster is also related to the period during which the pearl is cultivated; the shorter the period, the thinner the luster.
However, extending the cultivation period increases the amount of work required and the risk of not meeting other standards (leading to being overlooked in the selection process), which means that the fish becomes even more rare.

- Scratches (dimples)
Flaws on pearls are also called blemishes, and refer to protrusions, dents, or stains that occur during the pearl's creation process.
This is proof that they were grown naturally, and each pearl has its own unique character, but the pearls used at Orv are carefully selected to have as few imperfections as possible, such as unevenness, and we deliver them to you in designs that make the most of the quality and individuality of each pearl.

- Shape
Even if pearls grow in the same ocean and the same species of oyster, no two are the same and they come in a variety of shapes.
The pearls used at Orv are carefully selected from among these, and the rarest ones are chosen to be as close to round as possible.

- Size
The size of a pearl is generally expressed as the diameter of the pearl in millimeters if it is perfectly round.
Orv uses the highest quality Akoya pearls from Japan, and 7-8mm pearls are generally easy to wear in any situation and are a recommended size for first pearl jewelry.
Beads 8.0mm and larger are called "Odama" (large beads), and are an item that can be worn with greater presence and rarity, and there is a large difference in value between beads 8.0mm and larger and those smaller.
Furthermore, Akoya pearls larger than 9.0mm are very rare and are considered to be special gems.

- Color
Akoya pearls come in a wide variety of colors, but Orv offers the highest quality colors as standard, with a beautiful, elegant white base of Akoya pearls and a bright shine and rich pinkish rainbow colors called interference colors.

Orv paper items
We use eco-friendly materials such as FSC-certified paper and cushioning material made from recycled paper with a low environmental impact.
FSC-certified paper is paper made from wood or recycled resources produced from properly managed forests, and is based on the international certification system (FSC) that contributes to forest conservation.
There are three types of labels: "FSC 100%," "FSC Mix," and "FSC Recycled." These require proper management (CoC certification) throughout the entire process of manufacturing, processing, and distribution, and are used for environmentally friendly printed materials. Orv uses "FSC Mix" for its paper items.
